Write Around Portland provides year-round writing workshops that run for 8-10 weeks at a time and focus on helping low income adults and others who might not otherwise have an opportunity to participate in traditional writing workshops. Volunteers lead the workshop sessions - and are trained in providing respectful learning environments for writers and readers to exchange stories. Facilitators write along with the participants, making it an empowering and positive experience for everyone - while encouraging feedback on developmental issues such as: character development, dialogue, imagery, writing in different voices, and more.
